Has anyone bought/downloaded any good new music recently? (or old for that matter). I'm looking for some Indie stuff really but I've been too busy to listen to Zane Lowe for my usual tips so don't know who's hot and who's not at the mo (apart from Arctic Monkeys who I am definitely getting). Here's my contribution: anything by Sufjan Stevens. Superb!

I like The Magic Numbers at the moment. And check out The Engineers, and Gravenhurst, there are one or two good songs from them out there. The Engineers offer free download on their site of one of their songs. ;D

The Magic Numbers haven't really got the look sorted yet. I quite like their stuff though. The White Stripes did a live session on radio 1 this week. I only managed to hear My Doorbell but I'm going to listen online tomorrow to hear Denial Twist. Love it. www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/jowhiley/live_lounge/white_stripes_gallery/1.shtmlAnyone heard anything from The Kooks? They're meant to be really good and were playing in York on Tuesday but I was too knackered after my seminars to go.

Has anyone heard the JCB song? Despite the name it's not a novelty song, it's ace. I hope it's Christmas Number 1. Anything but that awful X Factor song anyway.

i'm not really into indie music, mainly pop/dance/trance/ oldies but goldies type of music, lol They play too much golden oldies stuff in York, it drives me mad. I like most music though not just indie. The JCB song isn't indie at all, and I don't mind chart stuff. I prefer to find obscure stuff that no-one else has heard of though Oh and andie - that is definitely the best Christmas song ever! I went in Burton the other day (pretending to buy my bro a present) and they have a jukebox so I put that on, along with many fine tunes to pleasure the shoppers. Actually I spent ages in there! But that was the best song. Hehe.

I laugh every time I see the advert for Simon Webbe's album - they've clearly smothered him in baby oil for the photoshoot.

Is it meant to look attractive though? I don't get it, he just looks greasy. Yuck.
Going to start my Christmas shopping tonight (yes I leave it late!) and I'm just trying to think what music dad would like that I can nick when he leaves it lying around. Hmm. I think I've bought him all of the Black Keys albums so far so that's out of the question. Have the Strokes got a new album yet? I'd He'd like that. ;D
