I could do with some proper food actually. Right now I'm eating a chunk of out-of-date cheddar for my dinner. mmm delicious.

Because I'm an adorable granddaughter, I'm making cakes tomorrow for my grans' birthday. But I could use some help please! Does castor sugar go out of date? There's no date on the bag, and no nasty things crawling in it, so I'm guessing it's OK? I have a feeling I'm either gonna poison everyone or burn the house down!

Well, mum bought more of everything anyway being as she didn't know if we needed it, I've made the cakes, no one's keeled over yet, so I think I'm safe! And I got to eat cake mix, yum!

my flatmates have been taking the piss out of me lately for my lack of culinary skills! i cooked a stir-fry from scratch tonight and they gave me a round of applause...bloody know-it-alls!
really though...is there any point in cooking just for one? i chuck more food away than what i actually use.

you lot remind me of my student days... Anyone got any vegetarian recommendations? I used to love creating rather random fruity concoctions, it had a reputation of being 'caribbean' but since moving in with my partner his superior culinary skills have put me to shame!!! I bake, as I'm not brave enough to do anything but desserts now, I often feel a spicy apple crumble coming on, and I've devised a crumble that tastes of mulled wine, which I usually make for when we watch MHL...

I bake, as I'm not brave enough to do anything but desserts now, I often feel a spicy apple crumble coming on, and I've devised a crumble that tastes of mulled wine, which I usually make for when we watch MHL... I know Im a few months late posting here, but Im going to anyway... I can't get enough of Avacado and spinach salad lately with balsamic vinegar and black pepper. It's so nice, especially on summer days, when it's just too humid to eat a hot meal. Another easy and cheap meal is Pasta with philadelphia and veg, with Garlic Bread.. Get your Penne Pasta, and while it's cooking, chop some red peppers and mushrooms up really thinly, and fry in some olive oil. Drain your Pasta, add the veg to it and then lob in a big chunk of Philadelphia....mix and serve piping hot, with Parmesan cheese. Voila, and it only takes about 10 mins to make. You can also cook the pasta and add some cooked, thinly sliced chilli peppers, mixed salad or spinach leaves, all drizzled with olive oil, black pepper and mozzarella cheese. Heaven. Meals like that are great when you can't be bothered standing there after work, cooking for ages. I do love a big plate of wild mushroom cous cous as well.
