I'm looking for a new mp3 player and need some recommendations. I had a Creative Zen Micro which was fantastic for a year and then broke. I bought a new one (same model) which was faulty so I sent it back. I got a replacement which had the same fault so I got a refund. Now I'm mp3-less and bored without it. Any ideas?

I'm not sure about ipods, I heard there are certain files they're not compatible with or something.
I'm wonderig if there's just a fault with the current firmware for Creative, maybe I should wait for the next firmware upgrade and try again. Hmm.

I have a video Ipod and touch wood no problems yet - I even dropped it on paving stones and it's ok (just a tiny few scratches ) . The accessories are fun too, I love the colourful socks. There is a lot of free conversion software about to get your favourite stuff into the right format. Don't you think Sony's look boring??? They used to be at the forefront of design, whatever went wrong.

Well somehow I got sucked back into the murky world of Creative Zens! I don't know how it happened, I actively went looking for anything but creative. I got a 20gb Sleek this time though. Seems to be working alright at the moment. Fingers crossed!

I've got an ipod shuffle, have had it for about a year now and so far so good. There haven't been any major problems with it yet. But I do want a bigger mp3 player at some point, with slightly more space on it. 1gb is kinda restrictive.

I got 20gig so I can put some audiobooks on there for when I go on holiday. Last time I went away I took my friend's copy of the Secret History (best book ever) and totally ruined the front by getting sand and suncream all over it. Oops. At least with audiobooks I can just be lazy and let someone else read it to me!

Now that IS lazy I think I just fall asleep when I'm sunbathing (thankfully I don't burn though)

I prefer books but you know, I can't do any damage with audiobooks.
Actually I do find audiobooks a bit slow. I've been trying to learn how to speed read for ages now so it's like a step down listening to a droney voice. I'll probably get bored after a chapter. But the advantage of 20gig is that I can put the whole Mighty Boosh radio series on and still have loads of room for all my music. Yey.

Cool, that should be fun I get a bit bored of the same music over and over again, so I need to do something about mine sooner rather than later, otherwise I'll end up throwing it in the canal lol
